In our very own space, we have the choice to create, speak and live our truth.
Sanskrit Meaning – Shruddhi means purification and Vishuddhi enhances this quality
Vishuddhi Chakra is located in the spine directly behind the throat area. It can be seen as a beautiful blue (or violet) lotus flower with 16 petals. The elemental quality of Vishuddhi Chakra is ether, or space.
The Elemental Quality of Ether in Vishuddhi Chakra
Ether is a vibrational field that unites all of the other elements. Ether can be seen like a vessel containing everything in the body and universe. It can be perceived as a crossover between the physical world and the world of spirit. Within the ether the four other physical elements earth, water, fire and air are created and contained.
From a spiritual viewpoint it can represent the matrix on which our physical reality exists. Ether also metaphorically represents a person’s relationship with their space and life existing around them.
In our physical body, ether creates the aspect of space, and controls the space of body and the space around the organs such as; the cranium, chest, pelvis and joint areas. Our bodies need adequate space in these areas in order for the organs and joints to function well. How we hold our physical posture in our outer space can affect the space inside the body and how well the organs function. For instance if we slouch forward, our chest area is collapsed and we do not breath so well.
Vishuddhi Chakra is also the purification centre and we can use meditation as a great purification of the internal space of the mind. It is also the centre for our communication and creativity by brining things into being by sound a vibrational force we let out into space. Our thoughts in our mind need space to hold the energy that is capable of manifesting what we are thinking into saying and into being.
The animal associated to Vishuddhi chakra is a white elephant signifying purification, communication, mastery and harmony.
When the ether energy is balanced we feel a sense of connection and appreciation for all life forms, we feel this connection through the ether around and within us. We may prefer to be outside more often to experience an expansion of our own space and connect us to the outside world. Our voice and communication is clear and we feel confident with what we have to say is coming from the truth we hold. We are creative, artistic and feel sensitive to changes of energy around us. We also feel more spiritually connected.
If there is an imbalance of the ether energy, we may speak too much without thinking what we are saying, which could come across as rude, tactless or bombastic. Or we may not want to speak much at all and not trust what we have to say is true or even lie. We may lack creativity and expression of whom we are, which can lead to loneliness and isolation as our space literally closes up around us in an unfulfilling life.
The organ linked to Vishuddhi Chakra is the throat. The sensory organ is the ears for hearing.
